LOCATION: Vancouver, BC with travel to site location in Alaska approximately 7-10 days per month during field season (typically June – September)

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Provide high level support to Project Manager and Business Manager
  • Assist with preparation of presentation materials
  • Organize and coordinate Oversight Committee meetings
  • Take minutes and update action logs
  • Compile and distribute weekly reports
  • Provide support for Community Relations function including organization of community open houses and regional meetings
  • Participate in hosting community outreach events in Alaska in remote villages
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process including onboarding and orientation
  • Oversee recruitment email inbox and respond to general inquiries
  • Dialogue with regional entities on hiring and engagement
  • Maintain master manpower spreadsheet and coordinate monthly project HR reporting
  • Coordinate new employee enrollments, changes, claims process and terminations for benefit programs
  • Oversee and coordinate project travel; train site Administrative staff
  • Manage boardroom and conference line reservations, catering, web-meeting and set up/take down for project meetings
  • Filing for Project team in electronic Document Management System (DMS)
  • Administrator for NovaCopper Facebook page
  • Oversee orders and inventory of branded merchandise
  • Organize and file human resources-related materials in electronic and hard copy files

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary education in administration or business.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in administration and co-ordination.
  • Experience working in the resource industry with aboriginal peoples/communities would be an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and act with a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong computer skills, including a high comfort level with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a confidential manner
