LOCATION: Bornite Camp, Alaska
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: The Camp Medic is responsible administering first response first aid treatment to injured or ill employees.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Administer first response first aid to all staff and contractors on site.
Maintain a clean, well-organized, secured and stocked first aid tent.
Check and maintain first aid kits located throughout camp (ie: kitchen, core shack, shop etc).
Maintain medical incident reports and ensure they are sent to HR and the Exploration Business Manager for Worker’s Compensation related issues.
Participate in drug and alcohol testing administration.
Assist the Safety Supervisor with the implementation and enforcement of safety programs and standards.
Assist with bag and room checks as required (i.e. reasonable suspicion, upon arrival at site).
Provide brief daily and weekly reports to the Exploration Business Manager and Project Manager.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Medical response training (First Responder, ETT, EMT) is required.
MSHA or OH&S training is an asset.
A valid driver’s license is required.
At least 2 years’ experience in medical response is preferred.
Safety/security experience is an asset.
Experience working in a remote camp is an asset.
Must be willing to work in a remote camp in alpine arctic conditions.
