LOCATION: Bornite Camp, Alaska

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: The Camp Medic is responsible administering first response first aid treatment to injured or ill employees.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Administer first response first aid to all staff and contractors on site.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, secured and stocked first aid tent.
  • Check and maintain first aid kits located throughout camp (ie: kitchen, core shack, shop etc).
  • Maintain medical incident reports and ensure they are sent to HR and the Exploration Business Manager for Worker’s Compensation related issues.
  • Participate in drug and alcohol testing administration.
  • Assist the Safety Supervisor with the implementation and enforcement of safety programs and standards.
  • Assist with bag and room checks as required (i.e. reasonable suspicion, upon arrival at site).
  • Provide brief daily and weekly reports to the Exploration Business Manager and Project Manager.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Medical response training (First Responder, ETT, EMT) is required.
  • MSHA or OH&S training is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in medical response is preferred.
  • Safety/security experience is an asset.
  • Experience working in a remote camp is an asset.
  • Must be willing to work in a remote camp in alpine arctic conditions.
